Job ID: 30689019

Budget: ₹3,000 – ₹5,000 INR

High-rise buildings become more popular in recent years due to the rapidly increasing of population. Therefore, the design of the high-rise buildings and the investigation of earthquake performances have been the subject of serious researches. In addition, it is very important to determine the earthquake performance of the high-rise buildings in Turkey due to earthquake prone area. High-rise buildings are analyzed and designed according to Turkish Building Seismic Code 2018 (TBSC-2018). TBSC-2018 allows performance-based design for high-rise buildings which provides to use cracked section modelling for the most representative response.
The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of cracked sections on the earthquake performance and structure design of high-rise buildings. In accordance with the aim of the study, a 20-storey building with RC structural system was modelled and analyzed using ETABS finite element software. The structural system of the model consists of the core wall + frame. Firstly, this model were analyzed by using uncracked section and the earthquake performance was evaluated. Moreover, the same model was analyzed using cracked section. After analyses, the results of each model such as maximum displacements, inter-storey drifts ratio and shear forces are presented and compared to each other.
