Fluent English (Scottish) Speakers for Voice Recording

Project Overview: Upwork Managed Services is seeking native or fluent speakers of Scottish English for a recording project.

You will use your own recording software to record your voice reading short text files.

Scripts will be provided in text files and will equal approximately 3 hours of recording.

Payments will be issued after all three hours are reviewed to confirm they meet all of the necessary requirements.

The recordings will be used for internal TTS research and development purposes. There will be NO public broadcast, paid usage, or external TTS model deployment. Your voice will be used exclusively for non-broadcast, internal purposes in perpetuity.

General requirements:
Native or bilingual proficiency in Scottish English
Proficiency in written English
Ability to deliver very expressive dialogues and professional performances, conveying the correct emotions as per the script.
Ability to commit to submitting 3 hours of recording within 5 business days of contract acceptance and receiving the scripts.

Nice-to-haves (but not required)
Experience working with scripts (for example, voice-over work, audiobook reading, acting)
Experience with professional speech recording


Technical Requirements for submitted recordings
- 24 bit, 48 kHz, mono
- Unprocessed, RAW .wav
- 60dB noise floor (or better)
- Naturally minimized background noise, breaths, and clicks (no plugins)


Application Process:
Interested talent should submit a proposal and a bid for the full 3 hours of recording. The average fixed price for this work is $60 for three hours.

No Upwork fees will be deducted from your earnings, meaning you will receive the full bid amount if it is accepted.
