Chinese Interpreter for a live webinar
Hello,
We are a consulting firm in the US doing international work related to energy efficiency and climate change mitigation.
We are going to host a webinar on November 15th at 10am-11:30am Beijing time [1.5 hr]
We need an English to Chinese interpreter.
The topic of the webinar is the decarbonization of the textile industry and especifically how to electrify process heating in the textile industry.
So, the interpreter needs to do some prep to familiarize herself with the terminology of the textile industry and decarbonization. We will provide the related materials [report and ppt] in advance.
Tasks:
1- Translate the text in our PowerPoint presentation to make the ppt bilingual [around 20-30 slides but a minimal amount of text is used. We have mostly charts]. You will be paid for a few hours spent on this translation work.
2- familiarize herself with the terminology of the textile industry and decarbonization. We will provide the related materials [report and ppt]. You will be paid for a few hours of prep work.
3- Make the English-to-Chinese interpretation during the webinar. It will be consecutive interpretation and NOT simultaneous interpretation. That should make it easier. I will speak for a minute and then pause and you interpret and so on.
So, out of the 1.5hr webinar, half of the discussion will be in English and the other half will be spent for your interpretation.
Qualification:
- Native Chinese speaker
- Fluent in English
- Prior proven track record in English to Chinese interpretation
- Good work ethic
