Native French and Chinese Linguist
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
I'm seeking a skilled linguist proficient in both French and Chinese for transcription quality assurance of audio recordings. The content primarily consists of interviews.
This project involves data collection for three types of texts across various locales: Conversational Email, SMS-style text, and Notes.
Content Requirements:
1. Emails:
• Total Required: 10,000 emails.
• Word Count: 700,000 words across all emails.
• Distribution:
- 20% of emails should be 10-30 words long.
- 50% should be 30-100 words.
- 30% should be over 100 words.
• Each thread should have at least two emails (a conversation exchange).
2. SMS-Style Texts:
• Total Required: 10,000 conversation threads.
• Word Count: 200,000 words across all threads.
• Thread Structure: Minimum of 4 messages in each thread with a total of at least 10 words.
3. Notes/Paragraph-Level Prose:
• Total Required: 10,000 samples.
• Word Count: 700,000 words across all samples.
• Distribution:
- 20% of texts should be 10-30 words.
- 50% should be 30-100 words.
- 30% should be over 100 words.
• This could be any 'notes' text type.
The following are the languages/locales required for this project:
1. French (France) - fr_FR
2. Chinese (Simplified, China) - zh_Hans_CN
Key Guidelines:
• Content must not contain Illegal, criminal, pornographic, violent, or privacy-infringing information.
• PII (Personal Identifiable Information): No real PII should be used. Fictional PII can be inserted, or real PII can be deleted without affecting content meaning.
• No AI or Copy-Pasting: All content must be original, written by humans, not generated by AI or copied from online sources.
Participant Profile:
• Demographics: Any age or gender, but the content should be balanced in terms of perceived speaker age and gender.
• Distribution: Text should represent dialects and language nuances typical of each locale.
Productivity & Resource Estimates:
• Headcount Needed: Around 1,000 contributors are estimated to complete the project.
• Productivity: Each participant should provide a minimum of 60 unique submissions, with no upper limit on how many they can submit.
