Chinese Translation Review – Second Pair of Eyes (Proofreading & QA) -- 2
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I have a Chinese translation that was done by someone else. It's about 500 words (roughly one page). I need a second pair of eyes to review it against the original English and catch any errors, awkward phrasing, or missing meaning.
This is not a full retranslation. Your job is to:
Read the original English (I will provide it)
Read the existing Chinese translation
Flag any issues you find (wrong words, unnatural phrasing, omissions)
Suggest corrections
You will deliver a side‑by‑side comparison with your suggested changes clearly marked.
Think of it as a quality assurance pass – not starting from scratch, just polishing what's already there.
Sample Task (Include in your proposal)
Original English:
"Please ensure the product is stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight."
Existing Chinese translation (to review):
"请确保产品存放在阴凉干燥的地方,远离直射阳光。"
Your task: Is there any issue with this translation? If yes, suggest a correction. If no, simply confirm it's fine.
Deliverables
A Word document with three columns:
Original English
Existing Chinese translation
Your suggested correction (or “OK” if no change needed)
No formatting required – just clean text
Requirements
Native Chinese speaker with strong English
Attention to detail – small errors can change meaning
Able to explain corrections briefly (1‑2 words per change)
