We are a dynamic video game development studio that is dedicated to providing players all around the world with gaming experiences that are both immersive and entertaining.
Our video game localisation process is currently in its final stage, and we are looking for a Chinese proofreader who is careful and attentive to detail to assist us with this process. In spite of the fact that the job of localisation has been finished, we still need a meticulous eye to examine and improve the translations in order to guarantee that they are accurate in terms of both culture and context. Being able to speak Chinese fluently, having outstanding proofreading skills, and being willing to play the game in order to view the translations in their natural environment are all characteristics of the ideal candidate.
Principal Duties and Obligations:
The Chinese translations contained inside the video game should be reviewed and proofread to ensure that they are accurate, consistent, and culturally suitable.
As you progress through the game, you should evaluate the context in which translations appear and make sure that they are consistent with the overall experience of playing the game.
Make sure that any mistakes in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and terminology are identified and corrected.
In order to address any problems or inconsistencies that were discovered throughout the review process, you should work together with the localisation team.
Offer feedback and suggestions for enhancing translations in order to improve the overall quality of the game and the level of immersion experienced by players.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of any changes or revisions that are made while the proofreading process is being carried out.
Qualifications include:
The ability to speak Chinese fluently, either at a native or near-native level (including simplified and traditional as appropriate).
Command of the English language is required in order to comprehend the original material and context.
a demonstrated history of working in the video game industry or a field that is closely related to proofreading or localisation services.
Unparalleled attention to detail and the ability to identify faults or discrepancies in documentation.
The ability to understand gaming culture and vocabulary, as well as a passion for video games to play.
possessing the ability to work independently and successfully manage time in order to fulfil deadlines.
It is advantageous to have prior experience with localisation tools or software.
Abilities That Are Desirable:
Previous experience with the localisation of video games or other projects of a similar nature!
