Beginner Mandarin Tutor -- 2
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
We’re looking for a Mandarin tutor to help a high-school student in a first-year Mandarin course finish the school year strong. The student is still at a beginner level, so we’re looking for someone who can explain concepts clearly in English while keeping most of the session in Mandarin to build listening and speaking confidence.
The main focus will be:
-Homework help
-Studying vocabulary and sentence patterns from class
-Preparing for quizzes and tests
-Practicing listening and simple conversation
The tutor should be comfortable reviewing the student’s class notes and materials and aligning practice with what is currently being taught in school.
Schedule:
Approximately 2 sessions during the week and 1 session on Saturday or Sunday
We are in the Eastern Time Zone (ET) and need someone with flexible availability. We can use Zoom as a platform and the student has a document camera so you can see the workbook pages.
Pay: Around $12/hour
Preferred:
-Experience teaching or tutoring beginner Mandarin
-Comfortable working with high-school students
-Patient, clear explanations, and encouraging teaching style
