Transcribe Old Books to Word

Job ID: 40370825

Budget: €12 – €18 EUR

I have a set of old printed books that I need transcribed, word-for-word, into a fresh Microsoft Word document. Everything will be retyped manually—no OCR or auto-conversion—so that the final file is clean, searchable, and free of the usual scan errors.

While I don’t need the pages to mimic their original layout, I do want the text presented in a standardized, modern format: consistent fonts, unified heading hierarchy, tidy paragraph spacing, and properly indented quotations. The only areas that require special treatment are the footnotes and references: they must be clearly distinguished from the main body, numbered correctly, and kept fully linked to their call-outs within the text.

You will receive high-resolution scans (PDFs) of each book. Accuracy matters; please double-check spelling, punctuation, and page order as you go. When finished, send back a single .docx that contains:

• The entire manuscript, fully proofed
• Footnotes and reference entries formatted and cross-referenced

If you have solid experience with manual transcription, close attention to detail, and a good grasp of Microsoft Word styles, I’d love to work with you on this project.
