Hey,

I’m looking for ideas for a action/adventure/military scifi series.

Below is what I came up with by myself so far :

Main character is a former soldier of the terran corps in his 40’s. He retired from active duty after a war came to its end. The terran federation consists of earth and a few dozen colonies. Humans are part of the galactic life like in star wars, star trek etc. Instead of returning to his home planet where nothing waited for him since all of his close family was killed in the war he decided to open a bar. Its located in an intersection of terran space and two other major powers. On a small desert planet within an asteroid belt its pretty far of from most civilization but that makes him the only viable choice for many travelers who want to resupply and since its so far off from most authorities it also became a place for shady business where bounty hunters, smugglers, and other rogues gather to drink, gamble, and make deals but at the same time the place has a kind of a general rule that everybody follows, it’s a neutral place and deals can be made there but no conflicts. Of course, its just a matter of time until trouble starts and our mc gets involved in it.

Now I’m a bit stuck. What is actually happening in book 1 of the series? What is the problem that has to be solved, how is our main character involved in this? Who are the enemies, what is their motivation? Whats the overall plot for the series where the main character becomes important on a bigger scale like saving the planet, galaxy etc.

You can come up with some ideas to further develop what I already have so far. Also I’m not hell bend on the Mc being the owner of the bar, but there should at least be a strong connection.

- Time travel/parallel universe
