Technical Localization Translator Needed

Job ID: 39899954

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I have a steady stream of technical documents that must be fully localized rather than simply translated word-for-word. Most of the source material has been created in Chinese for an engineering audience and now needs to read as if it were originally written in the target language (primarily English). Accuracy on terminology is crucial, but tone and formatting matter just as much because the content will go straight into user manuals, online help files, and UI strings.

What you will handle
• Complete linguistic and cultural adaptation of each document, keeping diagrams, tables, and headings intact.
• Consistent terminology management—preferably through a CAT tool such as Trados, memoQ, or similar—so future updates remain seamless.
• Final delivery in the same file format I provide (usually Word, InDesign IDML, or Excel) ready for publishing.

What I need from you in your proposal
Kindly attach samples of past work that show you have localized technical or engineering materials before. A brief note on the tools you use and any subject-matter expertise (mechanical, electrical, software, etc.) will help me gauge fit quickly.

I respond within 24 hours and am happy to start with a short test paragraph if that helps us both confirm style and accuracy. Looking forward to working with someone who can make these documents feel native to their new readers while preserving every technical nuance.
