Technical Document Proofreader & Editor

Job ID: 40412179

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

Most of my writing ends up as highly structured technical documents—think concise how-to guides, specification sheets, and the occasional white-paper style report. Before they reach clients or internal teams, I need each file returned in two versions: one with Track Changes showing every correction, and a clean final copy ready for publication.

Your task is to comb through each document, catch grammar and punctuation slips, smooth awkward sentences, and check for internal consistency without stripping away the original tone or altering any technical meaning. Because these texts often include jargon, diagrams, and reference tables, accuracy is paramount; minor wording tweaks must never introduce factual errors.

Typical workflow
1. I send a Word or Google Docs file.
2. You proof, edit, and leave concise comments where clarification is required.
3. You deliver both the marked-up and clean versions within the agreed turnaround (usually 24–48 hrs for 2,000–3,000 words).

Key tools: Microsoft Word (Track Changes), Google Docs suggestions, and any style-checking software you prefer.

I value clear communication and punctual delivery. If you have a solid track record editing technical material and can balance precision with readability, let’s get started.
