Project Description
We are seeking a qualified human transcription and translation professional or team to support an academic research project involving qualitative audio data collected through focus group discussions and individual interviews with women.
The recordings were conducted in Kinyarwanda and Swahili and are intended for analysis and reporting in English. The work will be conducted in compliance with academic research standards, including confidentiality and ethical handling of human-subject data.

Accurate rendering of meaning, including culturally specific expressions where relevant
Clear speaker identification (e.g., Interviewer, Participant 1, Participant 2)
Verbatim or clean-verbatim transcription (please specify approach)
Transcripts delivered in an editable format (e.g., Microsoft Word or Google Docs)
Time-stamping is preferred but not required; please indicate whether this is included in your quote.
Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency in Kinyarwanda and/or Swahili, with strong English writing skills
Experience transcribing and translating qualitative research data, including interviews or focus groups
Use of human transcription and translation (AI-only outputs are not acceptable)
Ability to accurately manage code-switching or mixed-language audio
Ethical and Confidentiality Requirements
All audio and transcript materials must be treated as confidential research data
The selected contractor must agree to non-disclosure and comply with applicable data-protection practices
No audio or transcript data may be reused, shared, or retained beyond the scope of this project
An NDA or confidentiality agreement may be required prior to data transfer.
