Looking for JP-CH KO Translators (Excel Spreadsheet of Written Scenarios)

Job ID: 35109930

Budget: €12 – €18 EUR

As part of the effort to improve the quality of existing speech translation systems and to expand their capabilities, you are required to provide accurate human translations based on speech and lecture scenarios created by professionals. Each scenario covers a wide variety of topics including COVID-19, SDGs, and other topics of high social interest, as well as topics in Sports, Economics, Science and Technology among others. It is important to bear in mind that all written scenarios assume a situation of simultaneous interpretation, thus you are required to adopt a progressive style when translating the
source text. Moreover, for some of the designated scenarios, you are required to create an abridged version of the translated text by omitting non-essential segments, assuming you are vocally conveying information to a potential listener.
1. You must be native in the target language and fluent in the source language. We may ask you to provide us with official documentation of relevant qualifications.

2. You are required to sign an outsourcing agreement with our company Flitto Japan, as well as an NDA (non-disclosure agreement). This requires you to provide us with your Full Name and E-Mail address.

3. You are able to perform basics tasks in Microsoft Excel, and you consider yourself a proficient user.

4. You are able to communicate both efficiently and in a timely manner, as you are required to submit frequent progress updates.

5. If you have prior experience with simultaneous interpretation, we would love to have you on board!

The project will span from August 24th , 2022 to January 31st, 2023. We are able to provide you with scenarios on a weekly basis, but please note that this may not always be the case. You are also not obliged to work for the entire duration of the project, and we are more than happy to provide you with just 1 or 2 scenarios. Please note that Deadlines are scenario specific.

The budget set for this page requires a translator to complete around 3-4 Scenarios (approximately 30,000 Japanese characters/20,000 English words in total), including an abridged version. This generally takes a skilled translator around 2 weeks to complete.

Before we proceed with the contract, please make sure to read through the work instructions attached below (one version is in English, and the other in Japanese).

If you are interested in this project, please send us a reply with your experience and why you are interested in this particular project. We are located in Tokyo, Japan and we are online from 9AM until 7PM JST.
