Language Assessment Specialist (Native or Highly Proficient in Chinese)
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
A seasoned Language Assessment Specialist with fluent or near-fluent Chinese proficiency would be an asset to our company. Developing and administering language proficiency assessments for use in formal, informal, and academic settings will be the responsibility of the successful candidate. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of Chinese, including its syntax, lexicon, idioms, and cultural peculiarities.
Part of your job description will include organising the results of several language exams that people took and putting them into a database. In addition to gathering answers and scores, you must also arrange them in a logical manner. Once you have collected all of the necessary data, you can begin to analyse it using a combination of quantitative and qualitative techniques. For example, you may see that applicants have consistent problems with specific grammatical structures or vocabulary usage, or you may notice that they gradually improve in areas like speaking fluency or listening comprehension. Examining these tendencies thoroughly will reveal the strengths and weaknesses of the present evaluation system. The data you get from this will be very helpful in guiding your improvement efforts. The validity, fairness, and currency of our language assessments are continually being reviewed and updated in this feedback loop to reflect changes in educational standards and linguistic research. This results in a comprehensive and precise evaluation of language proficiency.
