Chinese Annotation & Supplement Review
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I’ve split this project into two closely-related pieces of work, both serving the same purpose: to make reliable, science-backed information easily accessible to a Mandarin-speaking audience.
1) Image-level classification & annotation
My archive contains several hundred digitised pages that combine OCR-ready text, charts, and the occasional hand-drawn diagram—essentially mixed-content documents. Using VGG Image Annotator, I need every page tagged as “Text”, “Illustration”, or “Mixed”. The VIA JSON (or its native CSV) that you export will be the hand-off; no other format is necessary.
2) Educational supplement review
With the images properly organised, I can focus on the narrative. I need a thorough yet reader-friendly review—written in Simplified Chinese—that explains the current scientific consensus on common nutritional supplements. Think of a 3,000–4,000-character article that covers efficacy, safety, typical dosages, and any known contraindications, all referenced with primary literature (PubMed, Cochrane, etc.). The tone should be authoritative but approachable so that a curious layperson can follow along without medical jargon overload.
Deliverables
• VIA annotation file containing page-level labels (“Text”, “Illustration”, “Mixed”)
• The final Chinese supplement review in both .docx and PDF formats, complete with reference list
I’ll review a small pilot batch of annotations first; once accuracy is confirmed we’ll proceed with the remainder. For the article, clarity, citation quality, and readability for the general public are the main acceptance criteria.
