Romance Series Portuguese Translation

Job ID: 39938307

Budget: $8 – $15 CAD

I’m preparing a multi-book romance series—seven full-length titles with alternating female and male points of view—for release in Brazil. Each manuscript averages 70–85k words and is currently in polished English.

The assignment is to render every page into idiomatic Brazilian Portuguese while preserving the heat, humor and emotional beats that drive the original narrative. Dialogue must sound natural for both women and men, regional slang should feel authentically Brazilian, and subtle cultural references need either a smooth equivalent or a brief translator’s note.

What I will provide
• Final, edited Word documents for all books
• Series bible with character histories, terminology and tone guidelines
• Style sheet from the English editor for consistency checks

What I expect back
• A fully translated .docx for each book, matching the original layout
• A separate glossary of recurring terms, place-names and catch-phrases
• Light comments where a literal translation might confuse the reader

I’m happy to release the work in milestones—one book at a time—so we can fine-tune voice and pacing before you tackle the next manuscript. Familiarity with CAT tools like Trados or MemoQ is welcome but not required; clarity, creativity and respect for the romance genre matter most.

If your Brazilian Portuguese reads as smoothly as native prose and you enjoy bringing fictional couples to life, I’d love to see a brief sample of your past literary or romance translations.
