Narrative Interview Coding & Theming
Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
I have a collection of 15 interview transcripts that were conducted for a narrative analysis study. What I need now is a systematic coding of each transcript, the generation of meaningful themes, and a concise yet insightful results section that I can insert directly into my report.
There are no existing codebooks or theme lists; I am relying on your expertise to build them from the data itself. Your process should reflect standard narrative analysis practice—attending to plot lines, turning points, key characters, and contextual nuance—while still being transparent enough that I can defend every analytic decision.
Once coding is complete, I will need:
• A clean, clearly labelled codebook with definitions and exemplar quotes.
• A thematic map or hierarchy that shows how individual codes combine into broader themes.
• A written results narrative (approximately 1,500-2,000 words) that weaves the themes together, supported by properly cited quotations.
• A brief methodological note summarising your analytic steps so I can replicate or justify them if questioned.
Feel free to work in NVivo, MAXQDA, ATLAS.ti, or a similar qualitative package—just export the project file so I can explore it myself afterwards.
