We at VerboLabs are expanding our pool of talented linguists and are currently looking for Freelance Subtitle Specialists with expertise in SDH (Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing) for languages.
Role Overview
You will be working on subtitle projects that involve quality control, transcription, and integration of SDH elements (name tags, sound cues, off-screen indicators) into localized subtitle files.
Responsibilities
a) Translate and insert SDH elements into target language subtitles.
b) Perform QC on subtitle files to ensure accuracy and sync.
c) Work with provided templates or ASR outputs, depending on the workflow.
d) Collaborate with our team to deliver high-quality, SDH-ready subtitles.
Requirements
a) Native or near-native proficiency in given languages .
b) Prior experience in subtitling, SDH/CC, or audiovisual translation.
c) Familiarity with subtitling tools/software.
d) Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
