NLP Research for Machine Translation -- 2

Job ID: 39772034

Budget: $8 – $15 USD

I’ve spent the past five years immersed in digital media, lecturing in the Journalism & Digital Publishing department of a communication college and completing a PhD that bridges digital media with AI technologies. Now I want to push further into applied research—specifically Natural Language Processing—with a clear objective: tangible improvements to machine-translation quality.

Here is what I need from you:

• A focused research plan that surveys the latest NLP techniques used by state-of-the-art translation systems, pinpoints gaps in current Arabic↔English models, and proposes viable experiments.
• Implementation of those experiments—whether fine-tuning existing transformers, exploring hybrid rule-based / neural approaches, or testing data-augmentation methods—using common frameworks such as Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Rigorous evaluation: BLEU, TER, or more modern metrics, plus error analysis that highlights concrete areas of progress.
• A concise paper-style write-up summarising methodology, findings, and recommendations for production deployment.

I will supply background literature I’ve already gathered and can handle the final academic formatting; your role centres on technical exploration, coding, and evidence-driven insight. Please outline your proposed methodology, preferred toolset, and a realistic timeline for iterative milestones so we can get started right away.
