Proofreading/improving text in Italian language; Students are welcome ; No EXP needed; (PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION)
Budget: $1,750 – $2,250 USD
Hello,
I am looking for someone for a long term project (5-10 hours weekly for several months). Please only apply if you are a native speaker (or close to it) and if you are interested in doing this long term.
Everyone can apply- but students (even highschool is fine) will probably get a better chance of being chosen. No experience is needed, it's a quite simple job, the text is easy and isn't super specific (technical)- you just need to know the language and you will be good enough.
I have some automatically generated content (gt translate from content in English). I need someone to proofread it and edit it, removing all the errors while doing so, but also fixing other issues, making the text more readable/nicer, fixing translation errors and so on. If something doesn't make sense, I would want you to edit it (based on the context) so it would make sense. I am perfectly fine with the meaning of the text being changed/altered so it looks nicer to the reader in the end (and so you don't have to check the source file- saving you time) - this means that you don't have to compare the translation with the source file (which I will include as well) at all (if you don't wish to).
The goal is to have the final text (after you do your part) look like a native speaker wrote it (so that a random reader wouldn't look at the text and say "this looks like something a machine would create").
As already mentioned in the first paragraph, if the test file is done properly, I would have probably around 1,000,000 words to be done, with potential for more.
To see who would be the right candidate for this job, I have one file attached below. I would need you to edit it according to the instructions above. Then, if everything is ok, we would provide you with the offer for long term work.
While proofreading the file, please pay attention to how much time did you roughly need (average from the current freelancers working on it is 30-60 minutes). Also, I would need you to, in your bid for the project, write what would be your expected (roughly) hourly rate for this type of work.
The context of this article (and all future ones) is as you can probably already tell- about "what does it mean to dream of a house" (gt might have used word "desire" instead of "dreaming" which is obviously an error, please have that in mind).
The file that needs proofreading is "ITA House";
File named "house" is the file with the source text.
If you have any questions- feel free to ask.
Have a nice day,
Tomislav Jelic
