Beijing Travel Magazine Refresh
Budget: $20 – $30 SGD
I’m overhauling my long-running, print-based Beijing travel magazine and need a sharp Chinese-language wordsmith to carry our curated tourism research into a fresh, hybrid format: a redesigned digital-print spread for the magazine itself and a fully online companion.
Here is what the assignment covers:
• Content creation & adaptation
The new edition revolves around lively articles and stories enriched with solid cultural and historical information. Everything should read in a casual, engaging voice that invites both locals and visitors to explore the city.
• Multimedia integration
On the digital side I want text that flows naturally around striking images, photo galleries, and an interactive map that pinpoints every location we mention. Accuracy of those geographical references is critical; the prose and the map must align perfectly.
• Bilingual layout awareness
While the writing is entirely in Chinese, keep layout realities in mind so that the copy drops cleanly into both print columns and responsive web blocks. Familiarity with common editorial tools such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop or comparable platforms will help, though final artwork will be handled in-house.
Deliverables
1. Polished Chinese copy for each feature and sidebar, ready for print and web.
2. Caption and alt-text sets matched to supplied images.
3. Location list (in CSV or similar) keyed to the interactive map coordinates, ensuring every spot mentioned in the text appears on the map without mismatch.
I’ll provide our existing research notes, image folders, and rough page plan once we start. If you love storytelling, know Beijing’s culture, and can sync prose with multimedia, I’d love to see samples of similar travel or lifestyle work you’ve done.
