English to Portuguese Romance Novel Translation Audition
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
I am a new author, and I am looking for a Portuguese translator for my novels. For the right translator, this could be a long relationship with continuous work.
My books are steam new romance between a professor and a student. I would prefer a translator with experience with new romance novel translations and who enjoys reading authors such as Ivy Smoak (me!), EL James, LJ Shen, TL Swan, Helen Hardt, and Vi Keeland.
The perfect candidate will be a native Portuguese speaker who is fluent in English and has translated romance novels before – it’s important that you understand the nuances of romance novels from one language to the next. I want full-length translations (nothing abridged) that are true to the spirit and voice of the original novels. Auto-generated translation will not be accepted.
This will be a flat-rate, work-for-hire job with no royalty share. I will hold the copyright. The first novel to be translated is the first in a series and is approximately 83,000 English words including the book description and other marketing text that will need to be translated.
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a sample of their previous translation work or links to sample work.
3-5 candidates will be selected to submit a paid translation sample as an audition before the final selection is made.
