JP-EN Galgame Translation
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
I’m looking for a committed translator who can take the original Japanese script of a game and produce a smooth, idiomatic English version. The project is fully remote and part-time friendly, yet the scope is significant—well over 50,000 Japanese words—so consistency and stamina matter.
//Project content: AIPE translation.
//Required capacity/productivity: 3,200+ words per day.
Most of the text is narrative description rather than dialogue or system messages. You’ll be translating scene-setting prose, character thoughts, and branching story excerpts that carry the emotional weight of the game. Preserving tone, nuance, and subtle humor is key; literal renderings that feel wooden in English won’t pass muster.
A solid grasp of contemporary spoken and written Japanese, plus familiarity with visual-novel conventions, will help you keep character voices distinct. If you regularly work with any CAT tool or glossary manager, feel free to integrate it into your workflow; the final delivery just needs to be clean, proofread English that the developers can drop straight into their build.
Deliverables (all text files in UTF-8):
• Complete English script mirrored to the game’s line IDs / file structure
• Brief translator’s notes for puns, cultural references, or lines that may need developer review
• A running terminology sheet to guarantee name and lore consistency
We also plan to send a short test and would be grateful if you could let us know your anticipated completion time.
