HARO Expert Requests Curation
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
HARO (https://www.helpareporter.com/) is a site that connects reporters to subject domain experts. They send out lists of reporter requests over email three times a day. Your job is to look through these requests and send me a curated list of jobs that you think I have a good chance of being a source for. I will discuss further my expertise and resume, but I'm a Ph.D. economist, quant trader, and data scientist. Additionally, I will give you a template that is a response I typically give to these requests, your job will be to customize the template based on the request. For example, if the request asks for how some stock should be valued, swap in my finance experience in place of my data science experience. As long as I get good curated lists, I will continue to pay for it indefinitely
In my experience, there are typically 4+ requests a day that fit my interests. It probably takes 5-8 minutes to look through all these requests to find the ones that fit my expertise. In my experience, reporters have a 15-20% acceptance rate to use me as an expert. I pay $3 per request that a reporter accepts. Thus I think it is possible to earn $10-15 per hour with an additional upside as you learn how to perform the task optimally. Happy to adjust payment if these calculations turn out too low. However, it will take a little bit of time to learn how to be efficient.
