Energy Efficiency HVAC Consultant for Residential Cooling
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I'm seeking an HVAC engineer with expertise in energy efficiency, particularly for residential cooling systems.
- Focus: The primary goal is to provide me an expert opinion on a dispute with an Airbnb host. I booked a property that was advertised as having “central air conditioning” which when we arrived it only had a single split unit as per attachment where the red circle is. It was a larger unit, but not particularly large - I don’t know the capacity. I need an HVAC expert to provide me with their credentials and to give an opinion on:
1. What the definition of “central air conditioning” is
2. Whether a single split unit installed as per the red circle in the image meets the definition of “central air conditioning”
3. Whether central air conditioning is the same as a single unit installed in the living room because it is “centralized” aka a unit is in a central location of the home
4. Whether a single unit in the living room of the house of that size could adequately cool a home of that size
5. Whether it would be safe or adequately cooling this home in a heat wave
6. Whether ceiling fans in the bedroom would be adequate in a heat wave in conjunction with that system
7. Whether it could adequately be rectified within the same day to provide an alternative to central air conditioning to cool the bedrooms and if so how
Finally whether in your expert opinion you would consider providing one single unit when advertising it as central air conditioning would meet the below definition of providing accommodations significantly different than advertised considering the last point about special amenity:
Accommodations are significantly different than advertised, including but not limited to any of the following reasons:
Inaccurate space type (e.g. entire place, private room, or shared room).
Inaccurate type or number of rooms (e.g. bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens).
Inaccurate location of the accommodations.
The Listing fails to disclose that the Host, another person, or a pet will be present during the stay.
Special amenity or feature advertised in the Listing is not present or does not function (e.g. pool, hot tub, major appliance, heating, and air conditioning systems).
