Proofreader/Editor - Romance Novels
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
I'm an author who writes male/male romance using Google voice typing.
1) I need a proofreader with editing skills to go through the voice dictated files in Google Docs and proofread/edit them. You will need to do things like capitalizing the first letter after every quotation mark, and read it to find words that were dictated incorrectly. All of the author's dictated sessions will be video recorded so you will be able to reference the recording when the author's intent isn't clear from the text.
2) Along with correcting the dictation mistakes, the text must me edited for grammar.
3) Once a chapter is considered complete, you will then have to go through the text with the 'Suggestions' function on and change one of the characters from a male to a female. That will include, changing all of the pronouns and editing scenes that can be easily switched. The author will then go back and edit the "steamy" scenes to include the correct genders.
Once that is done, you will then go in and take out all of the steamy scenes making a version of the book that's wholesome.
