Spanish + Portuguese researcher/translator (freelance)

Role & Responsibilities:
- Support ARC in identifying and shortlisting credible local players who currently import or sell Japanese hobby goods and toys.
- Assist in sourcing, contacting, and scheduling 2 Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) per country with:
(1) Active members/officers of importer or distributor associations
(2) Retail chain store managers or owners handling hobby/toy goods
- Provide local context checks on operational challenges affecting toy/hobby goods importation (to be shared upon onboarding)
- Validate information collected in interviews by adding short factual notes based on publicly available local reports, news, or trade discussions
- Provide basic translation support (email messages, short notes from Spanish/Portuguese to English).
Qualifications
- Background in market research, retail operations, logistics, or importer coordination (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with local retail and distributor networks in consumer goods, toys, hobby items, or collectibles
- Comfortable contacting businesses and scheduling interviews
- Proficient in English + native/local language (Portuguese/Spanish)
- Access to reliable internet and able to meet quick turnaround timelines
