I’ve written a romantic short story and I’d like a fresh pair of eyes to give it a final polish. The main thing I need from you is a meticulous check of grammar, punctuation, and all the little mechanical details that keep readers immersed—consistent dialogue tags, correct comma placement, tidy quotation marks, the works. The voice, tone, and pacing are already set, so please keep rewrites to a minimum; the goal is to correct, not to rewrite.
For ease of review and revision, you can work in Word or Google Docs—whichever you prefer—as long as you use track-changes (or the equivalent) so I can see every tweak before rolling them into the master. When you’re done, I’d like two files:
