Family Memoir Proofreading
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have finished writing a family book that gathers decades of stories, photos, and reflections, and I’d like a fresh set of expert eyes on it before I share it with relatives. Your job is to read the entire manuscript carefully and correct every lapse in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and overall consistency. Beyond obvious typos, I want the narrative to flow smoothly, names and dates to stay uniform, and the tone to remain warm and engaging from cover to cover.
I can send the material in whichever format you prefer—Word, PDF, or even a scanned copy of the printed layout—so you can work in the environment you’re most comfortable with. In return, I’ll need two files:
• A version showing all your edits with Track Changes or clear markup
• A clean, ready-to-print copy incorporating those edits
If you catch anything that might affect meaning—conflicting years, repeated anecdotes, or formatting quirks—please flag it so I can review. Let me know your timeframe and a brief note about similar family or memoir projects you’ve handled, and we’ll get started right away.
