Copyedit Elementary World History Textbook
Budget: ₹4,500 – ₹5,000 INR
I have a complete draft of an elementary-level history textbook that introduces students to key moments and themes in world history. Before it heads to layout, I need a seasoned copyeditor to polish the manuscript for clarity, accuracy, and age-appropriate tone.
The work involves:
• Line-by-line copyediting of roughly 30,000 words, correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, and awkward phrasing while preserving the engaging voice.
• Ensuring all explanations, timelines, and captions are understandable for grades 3-5 and meet common core reading levels.
• Verifying dates, names, and facts cited throughout the world-history content, flagging anything that needs source confirmation.
• Harmonising headings, glossary terms, and references so the book feels consistent from chapter to chapter.
• Delivering two Word files: one with tracked changes, the other clean, along with a short style sheet that summarises key decisions (capitalisation, numerals, citation style, etc.).
Acceptance criteria: no unresolved track-changes, no spelling or punctuation errors, reading level suitable for elementary students, and a clear, consistent style sheet.
If you have a strong background in educational publishing and a sharp editorial eye, I’d love to see samples of similar projects you’ve handled and hear your estimated turnaround time.
