Accurate 7-Hour Interview Audio Transcription

Job ID: 40226388

Budget: £10 – £15 GBP

I have roughly seven hours of recorded interviews that need to be turned into a clean, text-based transcript for later research analysis. The files are far from studio quality—there is noticeable background noise in places and several different voices come in and out of each session—so automated tools are struggling. I therefore need the entire job completed manually by someone comfortable isolating overlapping speech, catching softer comments, and preserving the meaning of every utterance.

Here is what I’m looking for:
• A full, verbatim transcript delivered as either a Word document or Google Doc.
• Clear identification of each speaker whenever the voice changes (simple labels such as “Interviewer,” “Participant 1,” etc. are fine).
• Reasonable paragraphing so the text is easy to scan for themes during analysis.
• An accuracy level high enough that the final text can be quoted confidently in academic writing—think fewer than one inaudible or mis-heard word per page.

You will receive the audio in standard MP3 format via a shared drive link the moment the project starts. If you have experience using tools like Express Scribe, Audacity noise reduction, or similar to enhance clarity before typing, that will help you work faster, but the final pass must still be your own carefully checked copy.

Let me know a realistic turnaround time for seven hours of material and, if possible, point to any previous work with noisy, multi-speaker research interviews. I’m happy to answer other questions before we begin.
