On a recent trip in the Caribbean islands I learned of a natural sunburn remedy. rubbing freshly cut tomatoes on the sunburn makes redness and burn go away. I would like someone to research two things and put together an executive summary.

1. what is it about tomatoes that helps heal sunburn faster than any other over the counter sunburn cream that is currently available.

2. is it feasible to extract (in bulk) whatever is in tomatoes to create a gel cream to treat sunburn.
