Python algorithm to summarize and populate a newpaper template designed in report lab -- 2

I have a newspaper template (Python code) designed in report lab and an API that summarises news articles. Now I want to populate the template with summarised weekly trending news articles across the world along with their headlines and respective image. I want the news to contain the following categories: Business & Finance, Economic, Entertainment & Celeb, Health & Education, Arts & culture, Sports, Politics, Science & Technology, and History in this week. I want the populated template to be neat and I want the algorithm to be intelligent enough not to duplicate a news article twice. I plan to run this algorithm once every week, so I expect to get different contents in each run.
