Fix Zendesk 554 Email Error

Job ID: 40382754

Budget: £20 – £250 GBP

My team relies on Zendesk for all customer correspondence, yet many outbound replies fail with the exact message “Recipient server rejected email. Status code: 554.” We have not touched our mail server or DNS settings recently, and I’m honestly unsure whether Zendesk is routing through a custom domain or its default address.

I need someone who knows the Zendesk mail pipeline inside-out to identify why recipient servers are bouncing our messages, correct the underlying cause, and leave our help-desk sending smoothly again.

Please be ready to:

• Trace the full email path in Zendesk, pinpoint the trigger for the 554 rejection, and verify SPF, DKIM, DMARC or any other records involved.
• Apply or advise on the exact fixes inside Zendesk (brand-level email settings, domain authentication, relay configuration, etc.) and, if needed, coordinate changes in our DNS or mail server.
• Provide a short hand-off note summarising what you changed and how we can monitor delivery going forward.

If you have solved similar 554 issues in Zendesk or other SaaS desks, that experience will be invaluable. I can give you admin access as soon as we start so we can get back to 100 % message delivery quickly.
