Video Editor for YouTube
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Hey
I’m looking to hire a **freelance video editor** for my YouTube channel to take my content to the next level.
Pay: $50/video
What I Need
1. Video Editing - you’ll be confident creating professional, fun, creative, and engaging video content for my main YouTube channel. In particular, I’m looking for someone who:
a. Can match (and improve upon) the existing vibe of my YouTube videos: friendly, casual, understated, with sprinkles of fun/humour. Definitely not over the top. E.g. Ali Abdaal (https://www.youtube.com/c/aliabdaal/videos), Nathaniel Drew (https://www.youtube.com/c/nathanieldrewofficial/videos), and Matt D’Avella (https://www.youtube.com/c/MattDAvella/videos) vibes is the dream. Here’s an example of my latest video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMmzgPc9thg
b. Can include relevant b-roll, motion graphics, text, images, overlays and other effects to improve the quality and professionalism of my videos. You will start with the raw footage and edit the lessons into compelling long-form video content.
c. Has experience with sound editing + mixing sound to improve audio quality.
d. Has experience colour grading videos.
e. Is detailed oriented. Add the word ‘chicken’ in your application by the way lol.
f. Has experience including appropriate royalty-free music to match the vibe I’m looking for.
g. Can finalise lessons by exporting and uploading the final videos to a shared Google Drive.
2. Long-term commitment - you’ll be able to edit at least 4 videos per month, hopefully for at least the next 12 months.
Ideal Applicant
1. **You need to be able to speak and write fluent English** - as all my videos are in English I’d need someone who’s 100% confident using the language. We’ll also be in semi-regular contact with each other to discuss each project, so fluency is a must to avoid miscommunication.
2. (nice but not essential) **You use Final Cut Pro** - I currently edit all my videos using Final Cut Pro, so my ideal video editor would be confident using this software too. However, I’m also very open to editors that use other editing software if they’re the right fit.
3. **You have experience editing YouTube videos** - ideally, you’d enjoy watching other YouTubers, learning what sort of video content works on YouTube, and have some experience working for other YouTubers (regardless of niche).
4. **You’ve got some interest in finance + crypto** - lots of my content will be based around these topics, so having an existing interest in them will make things much more fun. But this isn’t essential :)
5. **You like to own a project and figure stuff out** - I want to hire someone who’s happy to just be given the raw footage and turn it into something amazing. If you’re the sort of person that’s totally independent and likes to take ownership of a project, then you’re perfect for this role.
How to Apply
Please fill this Google form: https://forms.gle/fMMdTXktXfKXW7Ng8. You'll be asked for:
1. A brief cover letter, just so I can find out a bit more about you.
2. A portfolio/examples of your previous work.
3. A few extra questions.
**The deadline for applications is midnight (GMT) on Friday 25 February 2022.**
The Application Process
1. I’ll shortlist candidates based on the application.
2. If you're shortlisted, you'll get an email with a trial task (probably something like converting raw video footage into a YouTube video). **I will pay you $50 for the trial task.**
3. We’ll have a quick chat to finalise things.
Thank you!
