Gaming YouTube Content Creator Assistant
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am a gaming content creator on YouTube looking for a "sous chef" or "right hand" person to assist me with all tasks surrounding gaming content on YouTube. Tasks will start with basic administrative work like communicating with editing team & ensuring content is meeting quality standards on the channel, but in time, I'd eventually like this person to handle all tasks which may include:
- researching high SEO terms for video metadata
- creating thumbnails
- conceptualizing new content
- looking through library of content to figure out how to reuse old content in new ways
- writing titles, description & tags for YouTube videos
- being the main communicator with editing team
- editing the occasional video
- creating clips for social media
- cross-posting clips on social media
- downloading clips from Twitch
- creating engaging posts on the YouTube "community tab" Please specifically mention the community tab in your application so I know you've read this
- helping research filming equipment upgrades
- scheduling calls with editing team
- finding new music for content
- helping to hire new editor if required
- helping update or create new graphics for content, whether static or animated. This could mean creating it themselves or helping find a designer who can create it
My goal is to free up my time for my other work, trusting this person to ensure that all content going up on YouTube is posted consistently while meeting quality standards.
The scope of this job will scale over time as trust is built. This is currently intended to remain a contract job, but hours and rate will grow. At first the candidate will start at no more than 10 hours a week and will start with a training rate for 2 weeks. Eventually I would like this person to become an integral part of my team and will be paid to reflect that.
The ideal candidate for this job is passionate about content creation and specifically about gaming. Gaming is a specialized niche and therefore this part is not optional. The ideal candidate may be someone who watches let's plays in their own time and is familiar with the format, whether on Twitch or YouTube. That said, these are necessary skills and traits I am looking for:
- Passionate about gaming and content creation
- Intrinsically motivated to produce high quality work
- Will seek answers elsewhere if the answer isn't obvious, willing to say "I don't know but I can find out"
- Willing and able to bring their own creativity to tasks
- Great communicator with radical honesty at the core, especially in the case of failure or uncertainty
- Interested in a long term "right hand person" type of job
- Sense of pride & ownership in all their work, holds self to high standards
- Able to think critically, really knows how to think big picture versus when to focus on the details and when to apply each.
- Values consistency & regularity, especially to balance me out (who works best in phases/sprints)
- Understands brand voice & can write basic text using brand voice
- Genuinely enjoys the act of content creation and specifically my content, because it will be required for you to spend time watching my content to be successful in this position
The more background and experience you have with specifically gaming YouTube channels, the better. Please include any experience you have with gaming YouTube channels and any other experience you believe to be relevant. My channel on YouTube is Strange Rebel Gaming. Please include your opinion of my content in your application.
