removing kernel.img from efi/grub boot partitions -- 2

Hi in my yocto project , I realized that the boot partition contains kernel.img but this image is not used for booting and can be removed safely , the solution is very easy must be something like rm -rf
but I'm not sure were to put the logic within my recipes
so I would like help figuring out where to put this logic
