Need to write a apex REST service that has response in XML

I need to write an apex class that calls a url. The url returns a response in xml. I need to retrieve some values from this return so I can use as an output. I have never worked with xml and only json. I can provide a sample xml response. I need to get this done in one day! Very quick turn around
