Overview
I am working on a small-scale project involving 2 to 6 users who currently create XML documents and exchange them via email until the final version is ready. The goal is to streamline this process by storing all XML documents in a database and providing an editable interface for these documents.
Key Requirements
User Base: Very small, only 2 to 6 users.
Current Workflow: Users create XML documents and share them by email.
New Workflow: Store all XML documents in a database with an interface for editing.
Platform Constraint: The DevOps team requires that no separate frontend frameworks (like React or Next.js) be maintained. Therefore, the entire solution must be implemented within Directus.
Implementation So Far:
The entire XML document is stored in a single field.
Two different interfaces are provided by duplicating the collection and applying different field interfaces on the copies.
Additional Features:
Developing Directus extensions to support view-only modes, so some users can view the XML document without editing rights.
The use case includes users working with dual monitors, where they can edit the XML document on one screen and simultaneously view the final output on the other.
What I Need
Expertise in Directus customization and extension development.
Ability to create custom field interfaces and view-only extensions within Directus.
Suggestions or improvements on the current approach to managing XML documents inside Directus.
