EPUB3 Pop-up Footnotes Amendment (2 eBooks)
Budget: €8 – €30 EUR
Expert eBook Developer: Convert Inline Endnotes to EPUB3 Pop-up Footnotes (2 Files)
Project Description
I need a professional eBook developer to modify two (2) EPUB files (EPUB 3.0 standard). Currently, these books have endnotes placed as plain text immediately following the paragraphs. I want them converted into semantic pop-up footnotes that work on all major modern e-readers.
Technical Requirements & Workflow:
Semantic Tagging: You must use the <aside epub:type="footnote"> tag for the note content and the epub:type="noteref" attribute for the links in the body text.
Namespace Declaration: Ensure the xmlns:epub="http://www.idpf.org/2007/ops" namespace is correctly declared in all XHTML files.
Cross-Platform Compatibility: The notes must appear as pop-ups on Apple Books (iBooks), Kindle (using KF8 features), and Kobo, while maintaining a functional back-and-forth hyperlink fallback for older devices.
Validation: The final files must pass EpubCheck 5.0+ with zero errors or warnings.
Style Preservation: The original CSS, fonts, and layout of the books must remain untouched. Only the note structure needs modification.
Specific File Info:
The source files are already in EPUB 3 format.
The notes are currently located within the main content files (e.g., ESG_it_e-book_v1.xhtml).
Confidentiality & Non-Disclosure (CRITICAL)
This project contains proprietary and sensitive material. By bidding, you agree to:
Absolute Confidentiality: No part of the content may be shared with third parties or used for AI training.
No Redistribution: Redistribution of the provided material is strictly prohibited.
Data Destruction: You must delete all copies of the source and final files from your systems once the project is completed and paid.
Skills Required
Advanced eBook Formatting (EPUB 3)
XHTML / CSS3
Kindle Create / Kindle Previewer expertise
Strict adherence to Data Privacy
