Spanish Streets: Cultural Documentation & Urban Portrait Project

Job ID: 40178170

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I need native Spanish writers/translators to work on a project documenting the living culture of Spanish streets. You will be:

Translating existing English observational texts about urban life into natural, atmospheric Spanish

Adapting cultural references to resonate with Spanish readers

Adding local insights where the original text lacks regional authenticity

Creating glossary notes for terms that carry unique cultural weight

The Content:
Deep observational pieces about street rhythms, social interactions, sensory landscapes, and neighborhood identities in Spain. The English originals are written by urban anthropologists and cultural observers.

Your Role:
You’re not just translating words—you’re transplanting feeling. You’ll ensure the Spanish version doesn’t just read well, but feels true to the sounds, smells, and social codes of Spanish streets.

This Is an Open Project
Street culture varies across Spain, so I welcome translators from different regions:

Andalucía – heat, shadow, flamenco echoes, street life as theater

Madrid – rapid pace, terrace culture, chulapo slang, four-season rhythm

Cataluña – Mediterranean light, street markets, local pride, dual language nuance

País Vasco – rain, stone, late-night pintxo crawls, industrial-meets-traditional

Galicia – mist, sea air, ría reflections, intimate urban scale
