Creative Writing Perspective Statement

Job ID: 39710102

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I’m preparing an application that asks me to explain the unique life experiences that shape my voice in the Arts and Humanities—specifically Literature with a focus on Creative Writing—and to show how the program I’m applying to can nurture that perspective. I have plenty of raw material (personal stories, themes, and the program’s details), but I need a polished, compelling statement that threads everything together in a way that feels authentic and engaging for an admissions committee.

Here’s what I’m hoping you can craft for me:

• A 600–700-word statement that clearly outlines my background, illustrates how those experiences inform my creative work, and convincingly links my goals to the program’s resources and culture.
• A brief 2–3 sentence “hook” or teaser I can reuse elsewhere.
• One round of revisions to fine-tune tone, flow, or emphasis once I read the first draft.

You should be comfortable with narrative voice, graduate-level admissions writing, and weaving specific program features into personal storytelling without sounding generic or forced. If you have experience positioning writers within competitive MFA or MA programs, that’s a plus, but strong literary copywriting skills are what matter most.

I’ll supply bullet-point notes about my upbringing, the themes I explore in my fiction, and the program highlights as soon as we start. Looking forward to seeing how you shape it all into a cohesive, memorable narrative.
