Teen Poet Writing Mentorship

I’m seventeen and committed to taking my creative writing to the next level, with poetry as my core focus. I already draft regularly but need structured guidance to sharpen technique, craft engaging narrative arcs within poems, and breathe life into characters and speakers on the page.

Here’s what I’m hoping we can work on together:
• Practical exercises that expand my range—everything from concise imagist pieces to longer narrative poems.
• Clear explanations of craft concepts (imagery, symbolism, rhythm, voice) followed by targeted writing prompts.
• Consistent, detailed written feedback on each draft. Google Docs with track-changes or similar markup is perfect so I can revisit every note at my own pace.

A mentor who has published work, led workshops, or tutored young writers before will fit best. Patience and an encouraging tone mean a lot; constructive criticism lands better when it feels like a conversation.

I’d like to set a regular cadence—perhaps one new poem every week with feedback returned within a few days—then adjust as we find our rhythm. Materials or reading suggestions that align with lessons are welcome.
