Fantasy Novella Proof & Feedback
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have a fantasy manuscript sitting at roughly 35,000 words and I’m ready for a fresh pair of eyes. I’m looking for a proofreader who can move well beyond basic typos and grammar. I want line-by-line polishing, plus thoughtful, constructive notes on how every edit affects flow, character motivations, and plot momentum.
My priorities are clear: character development must feel authentic and engaging, and every plot beat needs to land logically without holes or sudden leaps. If you catch a contradiction or a lagging subplot, flag it and suggest fixes. World-building feedback is welcome when relevant, but the heart of this assignment is tightening the cast and the storyline.
Please work in Word (Track Changes on) or an equivalent that lets me see each revision. Alongside the marked-up file, I’d like a concise editorial report summarising recurring issues, big-picture observations, and any scene-specific recommendations that don’t fit in the margin comments.
Deadline and milestones are flexible; I’d rather the critique be thorough than rushed. If you have a background with SFF and enjoy mentoring authors through substantive edits, I’d love to collaborate.
