Project Description:
Implementing Workday Financial Management module - all custom reports needed are from the finance team.
These people will come in and build/write custom reports for the finance stakeholders & groups within the client.
The contractor will be working with us to build custom reports for use by finance in Workday Financials. We have a listing of custom reports that the finance team has identified and we need some support to actually build and test those reports. All of them will need to be created in Workday Financials.
So a typical day would be looking at the tracker to identify what reports they are assigned to build. From there they would be working with business partners in finance to understand requirements, taking those and developing the report, and then reviewing and validating with the finance team that it meets their needs
Responsibilities:
- Develop Workday reports of medium to high complexity, keeping data accuracy and integrity at the forefront.
- Support Finance team to help review Workday Reports to ensure they meet the needs of the end users and are aligned with the governance requirements
- Develop BRDs to document gaps in WD reporting and outline custom report needs to meet business requirements within Workday capabilities.
- Detailed tracker of all the custom reports that need to be built out. Would assign this person to a report and they would need to execute.
- Would sit down with the stakeholder, understand requirements, translate requirements into build of custom reports, and then share back with the stakeholder to ensure it's sufficient.
- Requirements, build, and feedback.
- Help generate all handover materials required for reports created and help manage the overall report build process.
- All financial reports but they will be custom. All custom reports will sit and be created in the Workday Financial Management module
Experience Required:
- 2 years minimum with Workday report writing/report building experience. No cap on years of experience but this is a VERY hands-on role.
- The person should be aware that their sole job will be to meet with stakeholders and build reports based on requirements.
- Need to be able to understand the finance function and able to translate it into the build
Required Skills/Experience:
- No BS degree is required
- Experience building reports for Workday finance modules
- Finance knowledge - will be working with accounting, FP&A, tax, etc. stakeholders
- Types of stakeholders - manager, senior manager level within finance mostly.
- Stakeholders are mainly in accounting but will span to FP&A and tax
- Experience building/writing workday financial reports - they understand how to read business requirements and then complete the technical aspects of the build.
- Excel - output will be in Excel - will need to navigate/manipulate data in this tool
Preferred:
Workday Prism - if they know Prism, they know how to use the workday reporting functionality.
Project management experience - executing on a specific timeline. If someone has experience with a set deliverable on a set timeline and can manage workload based on that, a big bonus!
Hands-on report writing in any Workday module.
Workday financial management - this is the module they are implementing. This is where they will build the reports. The functionality is the same if they've built reports in other modules.
Technical experience in writing a report applies to all modules but understanding requirements from people within a finance function
Tech company experience - general understanding of tech reporting requirements - this is not a key preferred.
