E-commerce Website Rebuild (Preserve Design, Modern CMS, Stripe & PayPal)

Job Description:

I run a small independent record label with an established online store. I am looking for an experienced developer to rebuild my existing website on a modern, well-supported CMS while keeping the current design, layout, and branding exactly as they are today.

This is a platform modernization project, not a redesign. The goal is a fresh, lean backend that is easier to maintain and extend, without asking customers to relearn the site’s interface.

My current setup uses an outdated CMS combined with FoxyCart and multiple payment processors. This system is expensive and difficult to manage. I am looking to consolidate and simplify the entire stack.

Key Points:

The visual theme, product catalogue, and content must remain unchanged. Only the underlying platform should change.

Replace my current setup (old CMS + FoxyCart + multiple processors) with a streamlined solution.

Integrate Stripe and PayPal with seamless, fully tested payment processing.

I am open to your CMS recommendation (WordPress + WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento, or similar), provided it supports my existing features and future growth.

All current data must migrate intact, including products, images, customer records, order history, and SEO URLs. No broken links or lost metadata.

Site speed, mobile responsiveness, and on-page SEO must meet or exceed current performance.

The backend must be simple and intuitive for managing:

Products and releases

News and content

Artist bios

Customer orders

Scope of Work:

Rebuild site using WordPress + WooCommerce (or comparable modern CMS)

Migrate all existing products, pages, and content

Configure and test Stripe and PayPal integrations

Set up shipping and tax rules

Optimize checkout flow

Improve site speed and security

Provide basic documentation and training

Deliverables:

Development/staging site mirroring the current live design

Migration scripts or documented processes for products, customers, and order history

Stripe and PayPal configured in live mode with successful test transactions

Final deployment to my hosting or cloud account with minimal downtime

A brief hand-off guide covering updates, backups, and product management

Requirements:

Proven experience with WooCommerce and/or modern e-commerce platforms

Experience migrating legacy websites

Ability to work with custom themes and preserve existing designs

Strong communication and documentation skills

Portfolio of similar projects

Bonus:

Experience working with music labels, independent artists, or merchandise stores is a plus.
