Wordpress website needs restoring - plugin or theme conflict likely the issue, full access granted
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
This is a challenging project but also probably easy to fix!
We have a clients who we built a WordPress website for, they are supposed to manage it themselves but have not, and it seems that over the years plugins have got old, theme updates and or php conflicts have caused issues.
IT was showing as
Error thrown Class 'WP_Customize_Section' not found
The host has reinstalled Wordpress and deactivated the plugins, the net result is the website allows login for WordPress but the website is a blank page.
The host 20i.com (they are very good) advises
“The best thing to do in this case would be to go through your plugins one-by-one activating them to see which ones are the ones causing the issue, since the WP_Customise_Section suggests a problem in the wp-includes folder caused by a faulty theme, plugin or any customer code on the site. I can try disabling all the plugins + themes on this site so that it should get rid of the error, and then you can go through each of these one by one to see which the problem theme/plugin is?”
Logging the in the back end I can see all the pages are there, and the media, and all 23 plugins, and the theme Handel, but none of it is displaying.
The job is to get the website to display correctly, and to ensure it works fine.
The client informs me it was like this for months, meaning our latest backups are in the same state.
We do not have an image or a copy of what the website looked like before, so its going to be challenging to restore it – but I can tell you the colour scheme matched the logo, so hopefully that helps to marry up the right child theme and CSS.
So, probably an easy job with qa bit of fault finding, but I need you to know it all and keep me in the loop as you are working.
I can provide full FPT, WordPress login, stacpCP.com login including MySQL, error logs and file manager and PHPMyAdmin
To consider your bid I first need to know that you have really read this, so please reply with the word “mousetrap” and I will know you have read this. I get so fed up with the auto bidders who don’t read the script II just delete them all so, type mousetrap as the first word of your bid - or your bid will be deleted. ?
