Wordpress: fix various issues

In wordpress, we are having two issues:
1) Contact Form 7 just spins on submission and doesn't send emails. We haven't changed anything, but it stopped working.
2) We use Custom Fields and there's an error that our fields aren't working right due to some recent update.
