1. General Provisions
This technical specification outlines two primary tasks for a WordPress/WooCommerce:
Cleaning the database of fixing broken relationships and redundant data.
Optimizing the media library by removing duplicates and unused files, and configuring thumbnails to ensure consistent product layout, retaining only thumbnails used on the website.
2. Initial Data
The website operates on WordPress with the WooCommerce plugin.
!The website is integrated with a POS system.
Number of active products: approximately 2,500 units.
Current media library size: over 190,000 files.
Most products have an average of 1 image.
1) Due to WPML error there is a lot of broken relationships in DB that causes faults in Woo and POS systems (term id = null)
2) Due to an error, each image has approximately 10–20 copies in the system.
3. Task #1: Database Cleanup
3.1. Requirements
Prioritize fixing all broken relationships in the database.
Perform a comprehensive cleanup of the WordPress/WooCommerce database to remove junk data.
Ensure full website functionality post-cleanup.
Preserve all active products, their attributes, and relationships.
Identify any products linked to broken categories and remove from this category.
3.2. Work Stages
Create a full database backup before starting work.
Analyze the database structure to identify:
Broken relationships between tables.
Unused product metadata.
Obsolete transaction table records.
Redundant revisions and autosaves.
Develop and agree on a cleanup plan.
Perform staged cleanup with intermediate functionality testing.
Optimize database tables after record deletion.
3.3. Constraints
Do not delete any data related to active products or current pages.
Do not disrupt the structure or relationships of active products (but check them also for faults).
All operations must ensure compatibility with the POS system.

Reduce the number of files in the media library to 1,500–3,500 images.
Retain all images used in active products.
Remove duplicates and images/thumbnails not used in the new design.
Ensure correct display of all products post-cleanup.

Create a full media library backup before starting work.
Analyze media files to:
Identify images used for active products.
Detect duplicates.
Identify unused images.
Develop a deletion algorithm prioritizing upload date and file size.
Perform staged file deletion with intermediate product display testing.
Optimize remaining images to improve website performance.
4.3. Expected Results
Media library contains 1,500–3,500 files.
All active products display correctly, with no WordPress errors related to term_id null.
