WooCommerce Batch product image search and download plugin
SUMMARY: The program should search for a number of images (to be defined) for each product, display thumbnails of the images found and allow for the selection of one of the images to use for the "product image" of the product (as defined by the SKU).
PARAMETERS:
Image Count: The number of images to return for each product/SKU
Search Engine: URL field to enter the search engine to search (i.e. https://www.bing.com/images, https://images.google.com/, https://images.search.yahoo.com/, etc). If not “Page to Favor” option is selected, this will return the top 5 results returned by the search engine.
Page to favor: This will be used ensure one of the search results is from the page defined. Example: If user enters “honda.com” a search for “honda civic”, would first return an image result that is sourced from that website (honda.com). The rest of the images would be the other top images returned from the search engine.
Format: Preferred format to search (.jpg, .png, etc)
Transparency: Option to select if images with transparent background should be preferred (not sure if this is possible – please advise)
Min Image Size: Minimum image size (width) to return in search results
Which products to iterate through: Each product will need a custom field (Checkbox – checked=Y / unchecked=N) to select whether or not to include it in the product search. Items already without an assigned product image should be automatically flagged as “Y”). If a product image is removed, this value should always be set back to “Y”.
Results per page: Option to change the number of results shown per page
Search Term: The search value to use. This should have the following options:
• SKU (search by the product SKU)
• Name (search by the product name)
• Product Family (this will be a custom field we will add to the products)
• Combination (select a combination of the above to build your own search term i.e. Product Family + SKU)
DETAILS: The program will iterate through all products in WooCommerce. For each product, the "Search Term" will determine what will be used as the search term. The number specified in the "Image Count" parameter will be used to determine how many images are returned from the search (max of 5). When iterating through each product, only those products that have the “Which products to iterate through” value field flagged as “Y” will be included in the search. The returned images will be shown in some well-organized way with an option to preview them so one of those images can be chosen (per SKU). There should be some way to preview the image in a full-size lightbox before selecting. The user will choose which image they wish to use. Upon selection, the image will be downloaded so that it resides on the Wordpress server and is automatically assigned as that product’s “Product Image”.
This application should use search engine APIs to avoid CAPTCHA/bot traps.
When bidding, please bid with enough room to allow for extras that might be forgotten in the project scope.
